Dina Cheney

Author, Still Life Painter, Recipe Creator, Photographer

I'm a seasoned writer, having authored six books (The New Milks, Atria/Simon & Schuster; Mug Meals; Meatless All Day; Year-Round Slow Cooker; Williams-Sonoma New Flavors for Salads; and Tasting Club) and penned copy and created recipes for lifestyle brands and national magazines (Every Day with Rachael Ray, Parents, Clean Eating, Cooking Light, Prevention.com, Fine Cooking, Dr. Oz The Good Life, Men's Journal, Coastal Living, Specialty Food, Weight Watchers, The Huffington Post, 24 Life, MyFitnessPal, Food52, and more).

Having studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Yellow Barn School, I complement my content creation with still life photography and painting. My vibrant still life paintings are available on my ArtFinder shop (I can also create works on commission). My photos have been published in O The Oprah Magazine and on Prevention.com and feedfeed; and have been shared on Instagram by Food & Wine, Health, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and Real Simple. See my photos on my Instagram feed @thenewmilks.

A graduate of Columbia University and The Institute of Culinary Education, I'm extremely knowledgeable about the culinary world, having judged the Specialty Food Association's sofi Awards and taught and lectured extensively, including at The Natural Gourmet Institute and The Institute of Culinary Education. More than 200 media outlets, including The New York Times, NPR, Fox News, Redbook, Food & Wine, Cooking Light, and Real Simple, have covered my work.

Recently, I founded The New Milks (www.thenewmilks.com), a dairy-free resource site through which I am popularizing delicious and healthful plant-based, alternative, or dairy-free milks.
